The InfraGRID project aimed to setup a grid-services orientated infrastructure in order to support complex research projects and technological transfer. One of the main objectives was the acquisition of the computational cluster.

The InfraGRID cluster offers resources (hardware and software) as follows:

  • hardware resources
    • brief description:
      • CPU: 100x Intel Quad-Core 2.00Ghz (400 cores / 200 cores available for users)
      • RAM: 10GB/CPU
      • HDD: 145GB local SAS / blade-server (2x CPU)
      • inter-connect: 40Gbps 4xQDR Infiniband
      • remote storage: 4Gbps FiberChannel Fabrics
      • administrative network: 2x 1Gbps Ethernet
      • internet connection: 8x 1Gbps aggregated connection;
  • software resources
    • brief descriptions:
      • compilers: GNU Compilers, Intel XE Compilers;
      • libraries: MPICH2, OpenMP, etc.
